Before I started blogging, I didn’t know about the existence of this little thing called a read-a-thon. However, over the past year I’ve come across quite a few of them, and I became intrigued! I was always too late, though, or too busy if I wasn’t too late, or too overwhelmed by the idea of reading a certain amount of books in a certain period of time.
And then, earlier this week, I came across the Bout of Books read-a-thon at Gone with the Words. It seems like a really laid back, fun read-a-thon, and I think I will have the time to actually participate, so I decided I’m going to join in the fun!
So, what is Bout of Books exactly? Well…
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 11th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. Eeep, I feel like I really want to try this!! I’m going to think about it, because I’ve never done challenges and I totally would like to do something. Next year might be designated my Challenge Year or something, lol. XD
