Since I already posted a recap of 2015 and a recap of everything I read in 2015, it felt a bit unnecessary to write an entre Monthly Recap post for December, including all the books I read and bought. Instead, I am just going to provide you with a quick recap of what happened on the blog last month and then move on to my official sign up for Bout of Books 15, the first read-a-thon of the year (if you’re here for that, scroll down)!
Now, as for that recap I was talking about…
Reviews in December
- Fun Home by Alison Bechdel
- Four Mini-Reviews
- Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
- All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
Other Bookish Posts
That’s it for the posts of December! If you want to keep up to date with the books I read throughout the month, add me on Goodreads! And while I’m busy self-promoting: feel free to follow me on Instagram and Twitter, too.
Bout of Books 15
Last year around this time, I participated in my first ever read-a-thon: Bout of Books 12. Besides having the best time I also made a good head start with my Goodreads reading challenge. While I have a lot less time to read this time around, I do want to try and get as much reading done as possible as well as take part in the fun challenges and the chats on Twitter.
For those of you who are still confused about this Bout of Books things, here’s the official info:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 4th and runs through Sunday, January 10th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 15 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team
I do not expect I will get that much reading done, but I do want to have finished reading Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas and have started Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith at the end of the read-a-thon. There’s still a good chance I won’t be able to manage that, but I’ll try!

Are you participating as well? Let me know!
