If you follow me on Twitter, you might have noticed I’ve participated in a little thing called the Bout of Books read-a-thon this week. I’ve also posted daily updates throughout the week, which you can find in this post. But now, it’s time to wrap it up!
This was my very first time participating, and I had a lot of fun! I got a nice head start on my reading for this year, and I interacted with lots of nice people, mainly via Twitter. I think that was the most fun part for me — the sense of community and doing this thing together. There were three Twitter chats throughout the week, and I participated in one of them (unfortunately I couldn’t make it for the other two), and it was just so much fun.
I’ve said that a lot this week. But it was! I’ll definitely be participating again!
I finished three books this week (Love Hurts, We Were Liars and Invisible Monsters) and got quite far into the fourth one (Fangirl).
A lot of participants have also listed how many pages they’ve read, but I’m a bit too lazy to figure that out, and it also doesn’t really matter to me.. I accomplished all of my goals: read as much as possible (3 books, preferably), chat with people on Twitter, participate in some of the challenges, and most importantly: have fun.
I’d definitely recommend participating in Bout of Books — I had a really fun week! For more info on Bout of Books, visit the blog here.
The challenges I participated in were The Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt and The Literary Quote Challenge, and here are my entries:
Glad you had a great first BoB! Awesome that you met your goals and had a lot of fun!! Here’s how my Bout of Books 12 ended up.
Yes, it was so much fun! And now I’ve got a nice little head start on my goal to read 50 books this year. 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed participating! I was so sad when I couldn’t join -I have exams now, so… Yeah…
How did you like Love Hurts? I was a bit disappointed by it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
Exams always come at the wrong moment, don’t they? Hopefully you’ll be able to join the next one! I’ll probably be quite busy with university stuff then…
Same! I was quite disappointed as well. Felt a bit like a marketing trick to me, with the out of context excerpts from other novels… I’m going to write a review on it next week, I think!
Yes they do! I hope so too and that you’ll still be able to join, even though university takes precedence.
Me too! And I was afraid of reading spoilers for the novels I hadn’t read yet. I’ll definitely read your review 🙂
